Two ways to hunt with us
We guide two kinds of hunts behind our own setters. One is an easier day on birds at a preserve. The other is the real mountain hunt, up in the steep country after wild grouse. Pick the one that fits you.
Preserve Hunts
We take you to a hunting preserve for quail, pheasant, or chukar. The birds are there, the ground is walkable, and the dogs do the finding and pointing. This is the best way to go if you're new to it, bringing the kids, or you just want a good day on birds without the mountain climb.
Wild Mountain Grouse
This is the real thing, up in the steep country after wild ruffed grouse. It's hard walking, the terrain is rough, and the birds are few and hard-earned. A good day might be a handful of flushes and one or two in the bag. If you want the honest mountain hunt our dogs were bred for, this is it.
Your guides
Jason, Courtney, and Richie all guide hunts. Between them they have a lifetime in these mountains. They'll read the cover, handle the dogs, and make sure you have a good day whether the birds cooperate or not. You can read more about the dogs in In the Field.
